Fibersat Appoints Africa Telecom Veteran, Ted Manvitz to Board of Advisors
Luxembourg Oct 15, 2015 – Fibersat S.A., a new satellite operator providing ultra low cost broadband in Africa, announced today that they have appointed Mr. Ted Manvitz to its board of advisors. In this capacity Mr. Manvitz will provide counsel on Fibersat’s continued growth plans in Africa.
Fibersat CEO, Christof Kern shared, “Mr. Manvitz brings a wealth of experience and knowledge regarding the African TMT sector to Fibersat. His experience with Mobile Network Operators across Africa will be very beneficial to convey our value proposition in promoting LTE/4G backhaul utilizing our upcoming satellite, Fibersat-1 in 2018.”
Mr. Manvitz is Chief Investment Officer for IHS, Africa’s largest mobile telecommunications infrastructure provider, operating over 23,000 towers across the continent. He is responsible for all aspects of the company’s M&A activities, debt and equity funding initiatives. Since joining IHS in 2009, Mr. Manvitz has raised over US $5.2 billion in debt and equity funding and has completed 12 acquisitions.
Prior to joining IHS, Mr. Manvitz was the Managing director at ARM Capital Partners in Nigeria, where he led Investment AB Kinnevik’s private equity investments in West and Central Africa.
Before moving to Africa, Ted was a senior team leader at JP Morgan Securities Inc. in London where he was responsible for evaluating, structuring and executing mergers & acquisitions, private equity, debt and hybrid financing throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Ted also served as an Executive Director for JP Morgan's M&A Group and as a Vice President for the Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group in San Francisco. Ted started his career as a corporate lawyer with Bryan Cave in Missouri, USA.
Ted has an MBA degree (Finance Major) from the Kelly School of Business, Indiana University, a Law Degree from The University of Iowa College of Law (with distinction) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Accounting major) from Avila University (cum laude).
